When The Going Gets Tough
The Tough Get Going
MARCH 2026

People in India following the luni-solar calendar are celebrating the New Year today. People following the lunar calendar will celebrate Eid from Friday night.
People in the West following the Tropical solar calendar will celebrate the Spring Equinox on March 21st.
And for people like me who follow the Solar Sidereal Calendar, we are now in the final winding down stage of the year.
Today has been the Amavasya/No Moon Day. It's a day where the energy is low. So don't beat yourself up, if all you want is to just rest a little bit longer.
Pisces Season
Pisces is often depicted as two fish. Swimming in opposite directions.
It doesn't matter how big and busy the world outside is. You always have a way to look within.
I highly recommend the meditation suggested by Ramana Maharishi.
And maybe, if I tell you the planetary alignments for the time ahead, you may feel like taking it up yourself.
It is a conducive time.
To at least sit in silence.
Enter The Dragon
All planets, except Pluto, are within the Rahu - Ketu axis now.
This creates a Kala Sarpa/ Time- Snake effect.
It is as though the planets are wound up in the intense coiling energy of the snake. And intensity only builds. Creates unpredictable events. And it is karma on a fast track.
Sounds pretty scary?
Except....there is something you need to realize.
Every scary placement in transit....is a natal placement in someone's chart.
There are people who are born with all planets, including Pluto, in the Kala Sarpa.
They struggle in the early years. The coils seem very difficult to climb out of. And ....Karma is a bitch.
There are lessons to be learned. Of letting go. Of toning down ambition. Of forgiveness. Of maybe seeing that everything coming at you......is probably something you did to someone else earlier.
Dates to Note
The intensity of the Kala Sarpa effect will last until the end of the month. Then the moon moves out. Creating relief for the mind.
Mid- July Venus moves out. Easing things further. On a personal basis.
However, it is when things are so intense, that it creates a great potential for spiritual growth.
It can give you the energy required to sit still.
Sounds strange maybe. Energy is needed to move.....What energy is required to sit still?
Modern teachers.....and American appropriators of yoga.....may have given you a very wrong idea about 'asana'.
Good old Patanjali, on the other hand, mentions asana only once. He says 'Sthiram Sukham Asanam'. Sit Still. Sit Comfortably.
People find it difficult. It takes tremendous energy. Even more than is required to simply contort your body into different shapes.
Because you are dealing with the mind.
A formidable thing.
The Week Ahead
Mercury is with Rahu in Shatabhisha. You may want to talk a lot. May wish to spill your heart out to someone. I suggest picking a pen up. And writing it all down instead.
Venus is in her house of exaltation. And in a tight square dance to Jupiter. Superb for meditation.
You can choose to create art as well. Write a poem. Sing a song. Dance. Take a walk. Click a picture. Make a movie. Have an interesting conversation. Make a connection. Smile the first smile.
The Sun, Moon, Venus and Neptune are all in Pisces. Let's look at the themes and ideas of Pisces in more detail next week.
When I meet you on the 26th, the Moon and Jupiter will be in close degrees, and Venus will move into the zero degree mark of Aries.
Until 29th however, we have the super intense Snake Coil effect. Take things easy. It's after all the final month. A good time to rest.
