Good things take time

Pablo Picasso said, "The meaning of life is to find your gift. And the purpose of life is to give it away."

Quite an impressive line, don't you think?

It has a true ring of the Hero to it. Someone who set off on an adventure. Fought battles to discover his gift. And then he selflessly gave it away.

But then, if I tell you that Pablo's father was an art teacher and museum coordinator, the statement loses sheen.

And his gift was not 'given away' if it had a steep price tag attached!

Beating The Hum-Drum

There's a sense of fatigue in the mainstream social system today.

A prevalent self-exploitation, dressed as self-help.

It's unacceptable if you don't really know what your purpose is.

You've got to know. And you've got to constantly improve.

There's a fever to produce more. Be more efficient. Be better.

Mimic the machine.

But that's not who we are

So We Hang In Limbo

One voice pushing us to get up and perform.

While the rest of us, in rebellion, refusing to budge.

Un-Stick

Mars in Aries, is surely making you want to do something. But if you've been a victim of limbo for long, then it can create a kind of restlessness.

You are at important crossroads now. Mars in Aries is the catalyst for creating your identity.

It's time to shift from old patterns. You've completed a cycle. It's time for the new.

It's time for action.

Identity Shifting

I used to think of cleaning as a chore. Now I think of it as an exorcism. I'm enjoying it. And I like the way the surfaces are left shiny.

I used to think that I should have a super planned exercise program. Now I'm back to basics. I do some fascia flow exercises, I lift a few heavy things, and I've started a garden.

Again.

I've tried several attempts at becoming an urban farmer before. I failed because I kept comparing myself to people on Youtube. I was in a rush.

My experience taught me one valuable lesson. A good way to start a garden, is to first start a compost bin. If you can keep your compost bin going. And start another one. You've learnt some kind of rhythm. You've got your hands dirty. You've probably made some kind of recipe to get microbes active in your bin. You are getting a hang of time, and how it takes to grow. You are being a farmer.

And by the time you are ready to plant, you'll have nourishing manure ready.

I could go on....about the rest of the things that have changed for me.....once I changed my identity. And consequently the way I look at things. But you surely get the drift....

The Useless Tree

Chuang Tzu pointed to a gnarled old tree. For years it had been ignored by wood cutters. Its wood was so misshapen, nothing could be made of it.

He says, there is a use to useless-ness. The tree's uselessness allowed it to live a long life.

In the same way, society ignoring you for not fitting in, allows you to simply live a natural life. To live as you are.

The Week Ahead

It's a fantastic week.

So many planets shifting. Venus moved into Gemini. Now at zero degrees. Mercury just moved into Taurus. Zero degrees.

Mars will remain in Aries for a while. The Sun will move into Taurus very soon.

We have a Amavasya, Sun-Moon meeting in Taurus on Sunday. IST.

We are being serenaded with a wave of freshness. Newness.

Align yourself with this energy.

Until we meet again....I wish you a wonderful week.
